About Us

Yoga Utila is not a business- its more of a cooperative of sorts- with  folks looking to share their knowledge with others,  and continue the learning and cycle of yoga.

Yoga Utila was started as way to promote traditional Yoga- its practice and its teaching,  throughout the community, to locals, expats, and travellers alike- on the great little island of Utila, Bay Islands, Honduras. Our yoga classes are on a donation basis, in an effort to build and support a growing yoga community on Utila.

At Yoga Utila, we offer a variety of classes  in an open, supportive, and welcoming environment.  We have 2 instructors here year round, and then offer teaching hours to visiting instructors who are passing through or staying for a few months. In this way we can better expose people on the island (locals, expats, and tourists) to different styles of yoga and different styles of teaching to help them find the best match for them.

The island of Utila is one of 3 Bay Islands off the Caribbean Coast of Honduras, known for its great snorkeling, scuba diving, coral reefs, mangrove ecosystems, kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, the spiny tailed iguana and more!  We are off the beaten path a bit, and love it that way.  You can find out more about Utila at www.UtilaGuide.com.

We’ve tried to put most of the details in these pages, but contact us if you can’t find what you are looking for, or have comments or questions.

We look forward to having you join in and help Utila’s yoga community grow.
